    Google account Management before adding these to your software.

    After you've purchased your google accounts.

    Couple of things you need to do, before entering them in the software.

    Please follow the steps below for each google account

    1) You need to log into gmail for the google account in your browser from the computer you have the software installed on, and respond to any verification requests to enable the account for this computer.

    (Do this for each Google account you have. Then log out of that google account, clean cookies in that browser and repeat with the next google account)

    ((Note you only need to do this once. But you need to do it at least once per account, before entering it in the software, so you are sure that they will work in the software and you'll have no issues etc.))

    2) The first time you use the software with an account google may send a Security email, (to this Google Accounts Gmail Account) to approve the app to access the account. If you get a Security email open it, click View Activity, on the next page click Yes it was me. This needs to be done 1 time for each google account you wish to use.

    3) You need to log into webmaster tools https://www.google.com/webmasters 1 time (for each google account) in your browser on this computer. You just need to log in that's all.

    Hi Pete,

    Any chance of building a software to automate the above? I have many gmail accounts and it does get tedious in that this process has to be repeated if you use your computer in a new location or on a different IP address. Google is always getting more protective of it's accounts and sometimes I have to re verify just because it is a new day, lol.

    Another very useful ability would be to e-mail to other gmail accounts, and have them reply. This would should more credibility in the accounts as e-mails are sent, and replied to. What do you think?

    Both good ideas.. I'll put them on the list, but really I can't see it happening for a while, we are flat out here already

    Though these are one time requirements per account etc. So it's not that bad

    When creating a few Google accounts for spreading the risk for a project, can the recovery email be from the same domain or do I need have different recovery domains?

    Example:

    GMAIL ACCOUNT -->> RECOVERY EMAIL

    123@gmail.com -->> abc@mydomain.com
    456@gmail.com -->> def@mydomain.com
    789@gmail.com -->> ghi@mydomain.com

    Great question..

    We've created 1000's of google accounts using @outlook.com as recovery emails, and all are fine.

    so you'll be fine using *@mydomain.com for recovery emails.

    Cheers

    I often subscribe to a few newsletters etc and get them sent to the new gmail to get a bit of action in there. I don't do much replying though. I also, often, when I set up a new account, do a few local reviews and become a local guide so the gmail account is a bit more trusted. But it is a few more steps (to get the VA to do - LOL).
